Mission Support Network

Wow! What exciting development.  Apparently God had gone before us and prepared the way. What a blessing it is to step out in faith and see His hand in the advance preparations you didn't even know existed. Let's all pray for Trevor's communications with National Air Service in Moresby.  We will keep you posted .   ... Jack

Hi Jack,
I am praising the Lord that we have made some more progress today. I found
the supplier that supplies Dove air with Avgas. They can get it in in what
ever quantities we need for about the same price we are paying here. So that
is another option.

I managed to speak to the owner of Garamut in Wewak today. He said he was
quite willing to rent his hangar facilities to us. I explained to him what I
was trying to achieve mission wise and he told me that the area was dreadfully
under serviced and suggested that I contact the chief pilot at Dove Air when he
returns as they may be grateful enough of a bit of help, to let us use their
AOC. That is the Catholic mission. I am not sure that the devil would not find
some issue to strain relations there though.

Anyhow he said we could have the buildings for cheap rent. Did not specify
what exactly he meant by that. Apparently MAF were looking at it for a while
but have lost interest since their pilot was thrown out of his housing by his
landlord. If I can tee other stuff up I am about to tell you about, we may be
able to move a little quicker than I originally thought feasible.

I rang National Air Services in Moresby today. I got hold of one of the
pilots and explained what I wanted to do and that I had a need of an AOC.
Would they be willing to sell me the rights to use and adapt their
documentation to our needs. "Why don't you just use our AOC?" He replied. I
was shocked. I need to ring the manager and the quality manager tomorrow to
discuss this with them. They are an easy going outfit but quite professional
in their approach. If they agree to let us use their AOC in Vanimo, it will
not take near as long to get things set up as it would developing our own
AOC. We can then develop ours as we get the human resources we need to make
it work properly. So please pray for me tomorrow as this discussion takes
place. If I get a positive response, I will have to hop on a plane to Moresby
and see them. They may want to look at our aircraft and check some of the
documentation etc. Then I will probably have to go to Vanimo and take photos
of the facilities for them. There will be some paper work to go back and
forth between the government authorities and NAS and myself then.

Hopefully it should not take long. I pray that they will allow us to use
their AOC for a while.

Simon is enthusiastic when I talked to him on the phone tonight. He is talking
about when he can get us a second plane again now! He seems to be getting over
the discouragement that was bothering him. Praise God.

He has a contact near where he is that may help get him a foot in the Door
with Dove air to arrange for unscheduled maintenance when he is not there doing
regular maintenance. -minor breakdowns between times. Quite a few things to
pull together here, but God is doing a fine job so far.

Everyone I have spoken to up at Vanimo is telling me of the crying need for
someone to come and do what I want to do. There is one 6 seat aircraft doing
the work that one 6 seater, one 10 seater, one 14 seater and a twin otter that came
in and out used to do. This could be a good scenario for us to get ahead and
grow the program to a healthier size.

Thank you for your prayers..
May God continue to bless
